Prof Tammy Hoffman receives the prestigious NHMRC Elizabeth Blackburn Investigator Award for Health Services Leadership!

Tammy’s research Harnessing the power of prognostic evidence to transform evidence-based, patient-centred, sustainable healthcare focuses on enabling evidence-based healthcare so that patients receive effective and patient centred care. This includes enhancing the generation, synthesis, and reporting of rigorous evidence, improving evidence useability and implementation, and promoting shared decision making between clinicals and patients.

Tammy was previously awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2021 and elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences in 2019.

Named to honour the Australian Nobel Laureate Professor Elizabeth Blackburn AC FRS FAA FRSN, a molecular biologist who jointly received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2009. The awards were established to promote and foster the career development of female researchers and are awarded annually to the highest ranked female recipient (Leadership category) in the Health Services research area of the Investigator Grants scheme.
